The Small and Greedy Mouse Becomes A Nice Guy

Dear Reader,

As you know it is time for the telling of the second and last story about "The Small and Greedy Mouse." It is called" The Small and Greedy Mouse Becomes a Nice Guy."

To read the first book click here.

Please enjoy,
Ben

One beautiful summer morning Fred, known as the Small and Greedy Mouse, was packing his bags to leave for the Bad Habit Breaking Academy. He was nervous about leaving home for seven months. Fred regretted being such a greedy and spoiled mouse, but he knew he lost the contest to "Billy Bob" so he had no choice. After he finished packing he went outside and started waiting for the bus. As the big yellow and green bus pulled over, Fred kissed his mother and took one more step closer to the bus. Sadly he entered the enormous vehicle to see many older and bigger animals. He knew that this was going to be a long seven months. The bus made thirteen more stops and then drove another three hours and a half to get to the academy.

The academy looked so welcoming, but Fred knew what bad things must lie ahead. As he walked to the front gate he noticed that there were real diamonds on the hard steel. He was welcomed by a big but nice looking tiger with a gold name tag that read Yollie {"yoll-e"}. She waited for everyone to get right in front of her before she called out, "Do you know why you are all here?" Nobody answered, and everybody looked very frightened. Yollie continued, "Because our staff have caught you being greedy or mean to other animals on our planet, you will have to stay here for seven months of learning. Just in case you weren't captured by our best staff member here, I would like you to meet...Billy Bob." Fred gasped and whispered to himself, "How can I last seven months with that crazy bird?" Fred followed a couple other mice to the mouse dormitory. He couldn't sleep that dark and starless night. Bad thoughts kept popping into Fred's head of things the academy might make him do. Fred was more scared than he had ever been in his life, but he knew it was his fault.

The next day Fred woke up and was led to a big room for breakfast. The crispy bacon was very tasty, but not even the extremely delicious flavor could make him stop wondering.

At the end of the day when he finished his first friend making class, Fred headed for his dormitory. The day wasn't as bad as Fred had thought. He was very astounded because he thought it was going to be much worse.

For six months it was all the same, and Fred kept getting more and more suspicious. The food stayed the same, mouthwatering bacon for breakfast, grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, and juicy steak for dinner.

The next day in the Great Hall Billy Bob came and announced that they would be having exams in one week. Fred was so happy because exams meant that the seven months were almost over. However, when he found out the test was to be in front of a professor and had to be perfect, he thought he would be coming back for another seven months. Fred didn't want to come back even though it was a nice and peaceful place, so he studied more than he had ever done in his life. Every night he would read as much as he could before he drifted off to sleep.

It was the last day before the exams started. Fred studied all night, and since he didn't have his first exam till 1:oo he slept all morning until 11:30. When it was time for the exam, he knew practically all the answers. At his first exam for making friends he got an A+. He was so happy that he had no more pressure on him for the rest of the day.

He ended up passing every class except stopping greediness. Fred didn't mind because all he had to do to finish the class was have a tutor come to his house for two months. Fred was so happy that he was leaving the academy the next day.

The bus ride home was much better than the one to the academy because instead of everybody panicking they were all bragging about graduating.

When Fred got home his mom was waiting for him at the big stairs. Fred ran to her and hugged her for about two minutes.

After, they sat by the fire place and heard a knock on the door. Outside was another bus waiting, and Fred's dad jumped out the door. Fred's dad worked for the town hospital, and he was their top doctor. The mouse military had asked him to do some medical checks on some of the new recruits.

They all hugged and sat by the fire drinking hot cocoa, and they all lived happily ever after.

My Road to the NHL!

I am a hockey player, and I want to make the NHL when I grow up. The NHL stands for the National Hockey League. I'm in a class where you use a stick and gear. Once I pass I'll be ready to try out for the rink team or go to another kids hockey league.

At first, I looked like this.

Now, I look like this, and I am doing all sorts of fun drills.(The kids in the back of are members of the rink team that I will hopefully play for).

I'm been thinking about the long road I have to reach my goal, but I'm sure it's worth it.

A Series of Unfortunate Events (Compared to the Harry Potter Books)

I recently finished the second "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books. It is called"The Reptile Room,"and is very similar to Harry Potter. For example, both of the books have very clever children of all ages, and they all go through some extremely tough experiences.

Also both of the main characters have someone who wants a possession of their's, but for different reasons.

But there is one difference. One book is realistic fiction and the other is just fiction. That's because all the things that happen in "A Series of Unfortunate Events"can be done in real life. But Harry Potter is fiction because you can't walk through walls or do magic with a stick called a wand.

Were you afraid or scared of the pictures?

Do you think you might read one of the books?

Have you read any of these books?

Can you think of any other differences or similarities I missed?

The Small and Greedy Mouse

by Ben

It was a sunny September day, and the small, spoiled mouse named Fred was calling his mom to get him some lemonade. Then a bluebird swooped down to the top of the house. It landed on the roof and was surprised to find Fred on a fold-out chair sipping ice cold lemonade from a straw and a mini blue umbrella in his plastic cup. The bluebird wobbled over to him and asked, "Who are you?" Fred was so scared he jumped and yelled, "Get off the roof!" The bluebird shook his head and said, "I am Billy Bob. I have heard that you are very greedy. I am here to help." Fred shouted, "I don't need your help! I like my life the way it is." Billy Bob calmly replied, "OK, I can arrange what must happen." Billy Bob got out a green ink pen and a note board and made a bullet list and filled them in quickly. He said, "Good day," and flew high and started toward the west where he nest was.

On September 24 they gathered in Bennyville for the task. Another bluebird named Sally was announcing the contest. Billy Bob and Fred were in the center of a dome, each with a partner in front of him. Sally turned on the microphone and said, "Today Billy Bob will try to teach Fred to be thankful and not greedy. Their job is to ask for drinks, and whoever's anwser is most polite will win."

The task began and Fred yelled "Get me some lemonade." When Billy Bob asked, "May you get me some pink lemonade?" but quickly stopped himself and said "I can get it myself and am sorry for bothering you." It went on like that until the bell rang and signaled the task over. The partners went to Sally and talked to her about how they liked and disliked their partners. Sally paused and said "The winner is... Billy Bob! This means that Fred will be sent to the bad habit breaking academy."

To see what happens next come back in January for the sequel!

Hockey Upset! (For Me)

I love hockey! I went to a Kings game when they were playing the Pittsburgh Penguins (my favorite team).

The game was at Staples Center, and it was so crowded.

I was in the fifth row, and it was the most amazing view I ever seen at a sport event. The Penguins lost 5-2. I was so mad when the Penguins goalie gave up so many goals, and he blew the game away. But I was happy because of my view and that I finally got to see my favorite team live. The Penguins had 2 amazing goals to watch.

That was my view. Can you believe it?

I had such a good time, especially when I had realized where I was sitting.

Have you been to a hockey game before?

What teams were playing?

Did you enjoy it as more than me?

Fun Fun, Do You Like Fun?

Do you like fun?

I like fun. I like my game of Deal or No Deal.

I also like to play Make 'N' Break.

In Make 'N' Break you pick a card from a shuffled deck. Then you roll a dice with the numbers one, two, and three. That will tell you how many minutes you have to build what is on your card. If you're done before the timer you get to pick again and keep building. Each card has a number at the bottom. That tells you how many points you will get. Points are saved with little chips. There are ones and tens. To get a ten you need to turn in ten ones.

What do you do for fun?

Is it a video game or a board game?

My Cat, "Lizzy

This is my cat, "Lizzy."
.
If you follow my blog you know her from my post My Dog, "Zoey."

She is always purring for food. It gets really annoying, and when we do feed her she keeps on doing it.

She is as silly as Zoey for sure.

My Dog ," Zoey."

This is my dog, " Zoey."

She was a stray when she was not even a year old, and after that she was in the worst pound in L.A. Luckily the Lange Foundation adopted her or it would have been to late. Then we came in.

We had found a dog before , but he was not nice with Lizzy.(The family cat). I was sad when he left but when we found Zoey I didn't really mind.

New York is the best!

This summer I went to New York! It was the best, I so want to live there.

I went too the Intrepid with my cousin Jillian. It was fun seeing how the Navy worked, slept, and what they did for fun.

At the boat there where many things to do. It was there to make people feel like they were doing it in real life. There was a climbing place to make you feel like you were falling out of the boat and trying to get back on deck, But I was a little too light. I really wanted to do it but rules are rules.

Than we had lunch, and for desert we went to M and M World. They said that they refill the tubes of m and ms, even when there not close to being finished.

Do you want to go to New York?
Have you been to New York?
Would you like to live there?

Harry Potter

I' ve been reading Harry Potter. So far I've read one - three.(Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.)

Now I'm on book four.( Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.)

It's crazy how J.K Rowling waited seven chapters before she mentioned amazing Hogwarts.( The school Harry and his friends learn magic.) The books say the idea just popped into her head, which is very hard to believe. If anybody helled a best imagination contest, if J.K Rowling was not a nominee the person holding it must be from some other planet.

Have you read any Harry Potter books? How did you like it? Do you think you might start reading one, and trying it out?
